Just in case if you have never heard of a mango, then let it be my pleasure to introduce them to you! These are a tropical/subtropical medium to large tree that can grow in a container or directly into the ground. They need a minimum of 6 hours of full sun and can grow in a variety of soils. The very first mangoes originated from India hundreds of years ago, since they there are over 500 varieties in the United States alone! Every mango variety has different flavor profiles, shapes and growing habits but they all are a delicious sweet fruit to eat. Here in South Florida, our climate affords us the luck to grow some of the tastiest and hardiest varieties of mango trees just for you.
Uhmmm, helloooo...yes I said 'coconut cream' mango and yes it's freaking delicious and yes it's another hard to find mango because it's a coveted variety among collectors fast becoming very popular and yes we have them! This is another new variety on the market from hybridizer genius, Gary Zill. The skin can be bumpy in texture don't let that disuade you because the flavor and quality of 'coconut cream' is exceptional. The skin is edible because it's very thin and the fruit itself can be quite large, ~1 lb. The flesh is a super deep golden yellow then gradiates to a light lemon yellow color toward the seed. Your yard and kitchen will smell like coconut (if they last that long, lol) 'Coconut cream' is easily in my top #3 of favorites. The tree is a vigorous but wonky grower, almost like it's dancing as it grows new limbs, twisting and curling. This is a mid-season mango here in South Florida- fruits from June through July.
Our grafted mango trees are sold in a 3-gallon because it's less expensive to ship for you. The 3-gallon plants are usually around 1-1/2 ft to 3 ft high depending on the variety. Though we do have most of the varieties in a 7-gallon or larger so if you are local please contact us if you are interested as we offer local delivery. Because it is a living plant we expedite shipping to make sure the plant arrives healthy and alive. Please read the section about our plants on our FAQs page for more information.
